Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
Within the home of your own inner being, the merchandise is obtained. All commodities are within.
Each and every moment, dwell on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; the Gurmukhs obtain it.
The Treasure of the Naam is inexhaustible. By great good fortune, it is obtained. ||1||
O my mind, give up slander, egotism and arrogance.Become Gurmukh, and meditate forever on the Dear Lord, the One and Only Creator. ||1|| Pause ||
The faces of the Gurmukhs are radiant and bright; they reflect on the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
They obtain peace in this world and the next, chanting and meditating within their hearts on the Lord.
Within the home of their own inner being, they obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, reflecting on the Guru's Shabad. ||2||
Those who turn their faces away from the True Guru shall have their faces blackened.
Night and day, they suffer in pain; they see the noose of Death always hovering above them.
Even in their dreams, they find no peace; they are consumed by the fires of intense anxiety. ||3||
The One Lord is the Giver of all; He Himself bestows all blessings.
No one else has any say in this; He gives just as He pleases.
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs obtain Him; He Himself knows Himself. ||4||9||42||
Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)
शरीर (घर) द्वारा ही नाम रूपी सौदा प्राप्त होता है, क्योंकि अंतर्मन में समस्त पदार्थ व्याप्त हैं।
लेकिन यह सौदा किसी विशेष गुरुमुख जीव को प्रतिक्षण नाम-सिमरन करने से ही प्राप्त होता है।
प्रभु का नाम-भण्डार अक्षुण्ण है और यह सौभाग्य से ही प्राप्त होता है॥ १॥
हे प्राणी मन ! अपने भीतर से निंदा, अहंकार और गर्व का त्याग कर दे।तुम गुरुमुख होकर परमेश्वर हरि-प्रभु को स्मरण करो॥ १॥ रहाउ॥
जो गुरुमुख जीव गुरु उपदेश ग्रहण करके उस पर विचार करता है, वह लोक-परलोक में प्रतिष्ठा को प्राप्त होता है।
वह अपने हृदय में मुरारि के नाम को जपने से मृत्युलोक व परलोक में सुखों को प्राप्त करता है।
गुरु के उपदेश का चिन्तन करने से वह गृह रूपी अंतःकरण में परमात्मा के स्वरूप को पा लेता है॥ २॥
जो जीव सतिगुरु से परामुख होते हैं उनके मुख कलंकित होते हैं।
वे प्रतिदिन कष्ट भोगते हैं और नित्य यमों के जाल में फँसते हैं।
उनको स्वप्न में भी सुख प्राप्त नहीं होता तथा कई तरह की चिंताग्नि उन्हें पूर्णतया जला देती है॥ ३॥
समस्त प्राणियों को देने वाला ईश्वर एक ही है और वह स्वयं ही अनुग्रह करता है।
उसके अनुग्रह के बारे में कुछ नहीं कहा जा सकता, क्योंकि जिसे चाहे वह देता है।
नानक देव जी कथन करते हैं कि गुरु की शरण में जाकर जो प्रभु को पाने का उद्यम करता है, वही उसके आनंद को जान सकता है॥ ४॥ ६॥ ४२॥
