 Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
The Creator Himself created the Creation; He produced the Universe, and He Himself watches over it.
The One and Only Lord is pervading and permeating all. The Unseen cannot be seen.
God Himself is Merciful; He Himself bestows understanding.
Through the Guru's Teachings, the True One dwells forever in the mind of those who remain lovingly attached to Him. ||1||
O my mind, surrender to the Guru's Will.
Mind and body are totally cooled and soothed, and the Naam comes to dwell in the mind. ||1|| Pause ||
Having created the creation, He supports it and takes care of it.
The Word of the Guru's Shabad is realized, when He Himself bestows His Glance of Grace.
Those who are beautifully adorned with the Shabad in the Court of the True Lord
-those Gurmukhs are attuned to the True Word of the Shabad; the Creator unites them with Himself. ||2||
Through the Guru's Teachings, praise the True One, who has no end or limitation.
He dwells in each and every heart, by the Hukam of His Command; by His Hukam, we contemplate Him.
So praise Him through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and drive out egotism from within.
That soul-bride who lacks the Lord's Name acts without virtue, and so she grieves. ||3||
Praising the True One, attached to the True One, I am satisfied with the True Name.
Contemplating His Virtues, I accumulate virtue and merit; I wash myself clean of demerits.
He Himself unites us in His Union; there is no more separation.
O Nanak, I sing the Praises of my Guru; through Him, I find that God. ||4||27||60||
Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)
परमात्मा स्वयं ही कारण एवं स्वयं ही कर्ता है, जो सृष्टि को उत्पन्न करता है और उसकी परवरिश करता है।
समस्त प्राणियों में वह एक ही विद्यमान है, पुनः वह अलक्ष्य भी है जो समझा नहीं जा सकता।
स्वयं परमात्मा दयालु भी है जो अपनी कृपा-दृष्टि से अपना स्वरूप समझा भी देता है।
गुरु के उपदेश द्वारा जिन जीवों के मन में वह परमात्मा व्याप्त रहता है, वे उस सत्य स्वरूप में सदा लीन रहते हैं।॥ १॥
हे मेरे मन ! तुम गुरु की आज्ञा मान कर चलो।
ऐसा करने से तन-मन शांत हो जाता है और मन में नाम आकर बस जाता है।॥ १॥ रहाउ॥
जिस प्रभु ने इस सृष्टि को मूल रूप से रच कर सम्भाल रखा है, वही इसका ध्यान रखता है।
यदि गुरु के उपदेश को पहचानें, तभी वह परमेश्वर स्वयं कृपा-दृष्टि करता है
वह मानव जीवं गुरु उपेदश द्वारा ही उस सत्य परमात्मा के द्वार पर शोभनीय होते हैं।
गुरमुख जीव उस सत्य उपदेश में लीन रहते हैं, उन जीवों को कर्ता पुरुष (परमात्मा) ने अपने श्री चरणों से जोड़ा है ॥२ ॥
हे जीव गुरु का उपदेश ग्रहण कर के उस सत्य स्वरूप परमात्मा का गुणगान करो, जिसके गुणों की कोई सीमा नहीं है।
सर्वव्यापक परमेश्वर अपने ही आदेश से प्रत्येक ह्रदय में विद्यमान होता तथा अपने आदेश द्वारा ही जीवों की पालना का विचार करता है।
हे मानव ! गुरु उपदेश द्वारा अपने हृदय में से अहंकार को त्याग कर उस सर्व-सम्पन्न परमात्मा की स्तुति करो।
जो नाम-विहीन जीव रूपी स्त्री है। वह अवगुणोंवाली रोती रहती है॥ ३॥
मैं सत्य स्वरूप परमात्मा का चिन्तन करूँ, सत्य में लीन रहूँ तथा सत्य-नाम द्वारा तृप्त रहूँ।
शुभ गुणों का विचार करूं, शुभ गुणों को ही एकत्र करूँ, अवगुणों की मैल को नाम-जल से धोकर बाहर निकाल दूँ।
तब परमेश्वर स्वयं ही मिला लेता है और पुनः वियोग नहीं होता।
नानक देव जी कथन करते हैं कि अपने पूर्ण गुरु की श्लाघा करूं, जिनके द्वारा वह प्रभु प्राप्त होता है॥ ४॥ २७ ॥६०॥
