Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
Those who contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad are filled with the Fear of God.
They remain forever merged with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation; they dwell upon the Glories of the True One.
They cast off the filth of their mental duality, and they keep the Lord enshrined in their hearts.
True is their speech, and true are their minds. They are in love with the True One. ||1||
O my mind, you are filled with the filth of egotism.
The Immaculate Lord is eternally Beautiful. We are adorned with the Word of the Shabad. ||1|| Pause ||
God joins to Himself those whose minds are fascinated with the True Word of His Shabad.
Night and day, they are attuned to the Naam, and their light is absorbed into the Light.
Through His Light, God is revealed. Without the True Guru, understanding is not obtained.
The True Guru comes to meet those who have such pre-ordained destiny. ||2||
Without the Name, all are miserable. In the love of duality, they are ruined.
Without Him, I cannot survive even for an instant, and my life-night passes in anguish.
Wandering in doubt, the spiritually blind come and go in reincarnation, over and over again.
When God Himself bestows His Glance of Grace, He blends us into Himself. ||3||
He hears and sees everything. How can anyone deny Him?
Those who sin again and again, shall rot and die in sin.
God's Glance of Grace does not come to them; those self-willed manmukhs do not obtain understanding.
They alone see the Lord, unto whom He reveals Himself. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs find Him. ||4||23||56||
Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)
जिन्होंने गुरु के उपदेश का मनन किया है, परमेश्वर ने उनके मन में अपना भय डाला है।
वे व्यक्ति प्रायः सत्संगति में मिले रहते हैं तथा सत्य परमात्मा के गुणों को ग्रहण करते हैं।
परमात्मा ने उनके हृदय में से दुविधा की मैल को दूर कर दिया है तथा ऐसे व्यक्ति परमात्मा के नाम को हृदय में धारण करके रखते हैं।
गुरु का सत्य उपदेश उनके मन में बस जाता है और उस सत्यस्वरूप परमात्मा के साथ उनका प्रेम हो जाता है॥ १॥
हे मेरे मन ! यह जीव अहंकार रूपी मैल से भरा हुआ है।
परमात्मा इस मैल से रहित है और वह पवित्र व सुंदर है, परमात्मा पवित्र जीवों को ही गुरु-उपदेश से जोड़ कर संवारने वाला है॥ १॥ रहाउ॥
गुरु के सत्य उपदेश से जिस जीव का मन मोहित हो गया, उसे प्रभु ने स्वयं ही अपने स्वरूप में मिला लिया।
रात-दिन नाम सिमरन में लीन रहने से उनकी ज्योति प्रभु की ज्योतेि में समा जाती है।
अपने अंतर्मन के प्रकाश द्वारा ही परमात्मा की पहचान होती है, किन्तु सतिगुरु के बिना ऐसा ज्ञान प्राप्त होना असंभव है।
जिनके भाग्य में पूर्व काल से ही लिखा है, वे गुरु को आकर मिल गए ॥ २॥
नाम-साधना के बिना समस्त जीव द्विचितापन हो रहे हैं और द्वैत-भाव में नष्ट हो रहे हैं।
उस परमात्मा के बिना एक क्षण भी सुख के साथ नहीं बिताया जा सकता दुख में ही रात व्यतीत होती है।
अहं में भूला हुआ अज्ञानी जीव आवागमन के चक्र में भटकता है।
परमात्मा अपनी कृपा-दृष्टि करे, तो अपने साथ मिला लेता है॥ ३॥परमात्मा हमारा सब-कुछ कहा व किया, सुनता व देखता है, फिर उसके समक्ष कैसे इन्कार किया जा सकता है।
स्वेच्छाचारी जीव असंख्य पाप कमाते हैं, पापों में गलते-सड़ते रहते हैं।
उनको वह परमात्मा दृश्यमान नहीं है,क्योकि स्वेच्छाचारी जीव ज्ञान प्राप्त नहीं कर पाता।
नानक देव जी कथन करते हैं कि जिस गुरुमुख जीव को परमात्मा शुभ-मार्ग दिखाता है, वही उस मार्ग द्वारा परमात्मा को देख पाता है॥ ४ ॥ २३॥ ५६॥
