Raag Siree Raag•Guru Amardas ji•Ang 32

Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
By His Grace one becomes Gurmukh, worshipping the Lord with devotion. Without the Guru there is no devotional worship.
Those whom He unites with Himself, understand and become pure.
The Dear Lord is True, and True is the Word of His Bani. Through the Shabad, we merge with Him. ||1||
O Siblings of Destiny: those who lack devotion-why have they even bothered to come into the world?
They do not serve the Perfect Guru; they waste away their lives in vain. ||1|| Pause ||
The Lord Himself, the Life of the World, is the Giver of Peace. He Himself forgives, and unites with Himself.
So what about all these poor beings and creatures? What can anyone say?
He Himself blesses the Gurmukh with glory. He Himself enjoins us to His Service. ||2||
Gazing upon their families, people are lured and trapped by emotional attachment, but none will go along with them in the end.
Serving the True Guru, one finds the Lord, the Treasure of Excellence. His Value cannot be estimated.
The Lord God is my Friend and Companion. God shall be my Helper and Support in the end. ||3||
Within your conscious mind, you may say anything, but without the Guru, selfishness is not removed.
The Dear Lord is the Giver, the Lover of His devotees. By His Grace, He comes to dwell in the mind.
O Nanak, by His Grace, He bestows enlightened awareness; God Himself blesses the Gurmukh with glorious greatness. ||4||15||48||
Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)
श्रीरागु महला ३ ॥
सतिगुरु की कृपा हो तो प्रभु-भक्ति की जा सकती है, अन्यथा गुरु के बिना भक्ति संभव नहीं है।
जो जीव स्वयं को गुरु के साथ मिला कर नाम का रहस्य समझता है तो वह निर्मल होता है।
हरि-प्रभु स्वयं सत्य है, उसका नाम सत्य है, परन्तु गुरु-उपदेश द्वारा उस सत्य स्वरूप से मिलन हो सकता है॥ १॥
हे जीव ! जिसने प्रभु-भक्ति नहीं की, उसका इस संसार में आना व्यर्थ है।
पूर्ण गुरु की जिसने सेवा नहीं की, उसने अपना मानव जन्म व्यर्थ गंवा लिया ॥ १॥ रहाउ ॥
परमात्मा स्वयं ही सांसारिक जीवों का जीवनाधार व सुखों का दाता है और वह जीवों के अवगुण क्षमा करके स्वयं में अभेद कर लेता है।
ये बेचारे दीन-हीन जीव-जन्तु क्या समर्था रखते हैं और क्या कुछ कह कर सुना सकते हैं।
वह परमेश्वर स्वयं ही गुरुमुख जीवों को नाम द्वारा प्रतिष्ठित करता है और स्वयं ही उन से सेवा करवाता है॥ २॥
स्वेच्छाचारी जीव अपने कुटुम्ब-मोह में लिप्त हो रहा है, किन्तु अंतकाल में किसी ने भी साथ नहीं देना।
जिसने सतिगुरु की सेवा करके गुणों के खज़ाने वाले परमात्मा को प्राप्त कर लिया है, उसकी कीमत नहीं आँकी जा सकती।
हरि-परमेश्वर सदैवकाल मेरा मित्र व साथीं है और अंतकाल में भी वह सहायक होगा ॥ ३॥
अपने मन-चित्त में कोई चाहे कहता रहे अथवा किसी अन्य से कहलाए कि मुझ में अभिमान नहीं है, किन्तु गुरु की कृपा के बिना जीव के अंतर्मन से अभिमान समाप्त नहीं होता।
परमेश्वर समस्त जीवों का दाता एवं भक्त-वत्सल है, और वह स्वयं ही कृपा करके जीव के हृदय में भक्ति बसाता है।
नानक देव जी कथन करते हैं कि परमात्मा स्वयं ही यश व ज्ञान देता है और स्वयं गुरु द्वारा प्रतिष्ठा प्रदान करता है अर्थात्-अकाल-पुरुष स्वयं ही गुरुमुख जीव को आत्म ज्ञान देकर इस लोक में यश तथा परलोक में प्रतिष्ठित पद प्रदान करता है ॥ ४ ॥ १५॥ ४८ ॥
