Siree Raag, Third Mehl: O Dear Lord, You are the Truest of the True. All things are in Your Power. The 8.4 million species of beings wander around searching for You, but without the Guru, they do not find You. When the Dear Lord grants His Forgiveness, this human body finds lasting peace. By Guru's Grace, I serve the True One, who is Immeasurably Deep and Profound. ||1|| O my mind, attuned to the Naam, you shall find peace. Follow the Guru's Teachings, and praise the Naam; there is no other at all. ||1|| Pause || The Righteous Judge of Dharma, by the Hukam of God's Command, sits and administers True Justice. Those evil souls, ensnared by the love of duality, are subject to Your Command. Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

This human body has been given to you.This is your chance to meet the Lord of the Universe.Nothing else will work.Join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; vibrate and meditate on the Jewel of the Naam. ||1||

Make every effort to cross over this terrifying world-ocean.You are squandering this life uselessly in the love of Maya. ||1|| Pause ||

I have not practiced meditation, self-discipline, self-restraint or righteous living.I have not served the Holy; I have not acknowledged the Lord, my King.Says Nanak, my actions are contemptible!O Lord, I seek Your Sanctuary; please, preserve my honor! ||2||4||

Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)

हे मानव ! तुझे जो यह मानव जन्म प्राप्त हुआ है।यही तुम्हारा प्रभु को मिलने का शुभावसर है : अर्थात् प्रभु का नाम सिमरन करने हेतु ही यह मानव जन्म तुझे प्राप्त हुआ है।इसके अतिरिक्त किए जाने वाले सांसारिक कार्य तुम्हारे किसी काम के नहीं हैं।सिर्फ तुम साधुओं-संतों का संग करके उस अकाल-पुरुष का चिन्तन ही करो ॥ १॥

इसलिए इस संसार-सागर से पार उतरने के उद्यम में लग।अन्यथा माया के प्रेम में रत तुम्हारा यह जीवन व्यर्थ ही चला जाएगा ॥ १॥ रहाउ॥

हे मानव ! तुमने जप, तप व संयम नहीं किया और न ही कोई पुनीत कार्य करके धर्म कमाया है।साधु-संतों की सेवा नहीं की है तथा न ही परमेश्वर को स्मरण किया है।हे नानक ! हम मंदकर्मी जीव हैं।मुझ शरणागत की लाज रखो ॥ २॥ ४॥
