Siree Raag, Third Mehl: O Dear Lord, You are the Truest of the True. All things are in Your Power. The 8.4 million species of beings wander around searching for You, but without the Guru, they do not find You. When the Dear Lord grants His Forgiveness, this human body finds lasting peace. By Guru's Grace, I serve the True One, who is Immeasurably Deep and Profound. ||1|| O my mind, attuned to the Naam, you shall find peace. Follow the Guru's Teachings, and praise the Naam; there is no other at all. ||1|| Pause || The Righteous Judge of Dharma, by the Hukam of God's Command, sits and administers True Justice. Those evil souls, ensnared by the love of duality, are subject to Your Command. Raag Gauree Poorbee, Fourth Mehl:

The body-village is filled to overflowing with anger and sexual desire; these were broken into bits when I met with the Holy Saint.By pre-ordained destiny, I have met with the Guru. I have entered into the realm of the Lord's Love. ||1||

Greet the Holy Saint with your palms pressed together; this is an act of great merit.Bow down before Him; this is a virtuous action indeed. ||1|| Pause ||

The wicked shaaktas, the faithless cynics, do not know the Taste of the Lord's Sublime Essence. The thorn of egotism is embedded deep within them.The more they walk away, the deeper it pierces them, and the more they suffer in pain, until finally, the Messenger of Death smashes his club against their heads. ||2||

The humble servants of the Lord are absorbed in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. The pain of birth and the fear of death are eradicated.They have found the Imperishable Supreme Being, the Transcendent Lord God, and they receive great honor throughout all the worlds and realms. ||3||

I am poor and meek, God, but I belong to You! Save me-please save me, O Greatest of the Great!Servant Nanak takes the Sustenance and Support of the Naam. In the Name of the Lord, he enjoys celestial peace. ||4||4||

Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)

 (मनुष्य का यह शरीर रूपी) शहर काम और क्रोध से भरा रहता है। गुरु को मिल के ही (काम-क्रोध आदि के इस मेल को) तोड़ जा सकता है। जिस मनुष्य को पूर्बले कर्मों के संजोगों से गुरु मिल जाता है, उसके मन में परमात्मा के साथ लगन लग जाती है (और उसके अंदर से कामादिक विकारों का जोड़ टूट जाता है)।1।

 गुरु के आगे हाथ जोड़, यह बहुत भला काम है। गुरु के आगे नत्मस्तक हो जाओ, ये बड़ा नेक काम है।1। रहाउ।

जो मनुष्य प्रमात्मा से टूटे हुए हैं, वे उसके नाम के रस के स्वाद को नहीं समझ सकते। उनके मन में अहंकार का (मानों) काँटा चुभा हुआ है। ज्यों ज्यों वे चलते हैं (ज्यों ज्यों वे अहम् के स्वभाव में जीते हैं, अहंकार का काँटा उनको) चुभता है, वे दुख पाते हैं, और अपने सिर पर उन्हें आत्मिक मौत रूपी डंडा बर्दाश्त करना पड़ता है। (भाव, आत्मिक मौत उनके सिर पे सवार रहती है)।2।

 (दूसरी तरफ) परमात्मा के प्यारे बंदेपरमात्मा के नाम में जुड़े रहते हैं। उनके संसार के जनम-तरण का दुख काटा जाता है। उन्हें कभी नाश ना होने वाला परमेश्वर मिल जाता है। उनकी शोभा सारे खंड-ब्रहिमंडों में हो जाती है।3।

 हे प्रभु! हम जीव तेरे दर के गरीब भिखारी हैं। तू सबसे बड़ा मददगार है। हमें (इन कामादिक विकारों से) बचा ले। हे प्रभु तेरे दास नानक को तेरा ही आसरा है, तेरा नाम ही सहारा है। तेरे नाम में जुड़ने से ही सुख मिलता है।4।4|
