Siree Raag, Third Mehl: O Dear Lord, You are the Truest of the True. All things are in Your Power. The 8.4 million species of beings wander around searching for You, but without the Guru, they do not find You. When the Dear Lord grants His Forgiveness, this human body finds lasting peace. By Guru's Grace, I serve the True One, who is Immeasurably Deep and Profound. ||1|| O my mind, attuned to the Naam, you shall find peace. Follow the Guru's Teachings, and praise the Naam; there is no other at all. ||1|| Pause || The Righteous Judge of Dharma, by the Hukam of God's Command, sits and administers True Justice. Those evil souls, ensnared by the love of duality, are subject to Your Command. Shalok, First Mehl:

In ego they come, and in ego they go. In ego they are born, and in ego they die. In ego they give, and in ego they take. In ego they earn, and in ego they lose. In ego they become truthful or false. In ego they reflect on virtue and sin. In ego they go to heaven or hell. In ego they laugh, and in ego they weep. In ego they become dirty, and in ego they are washed clean. In ego they lose social status and class. In ego they are ignorant, and in ego they are wise. They do not know the value of salvation and liberation. In ego they love Maya, and in ego they are kept in darkness by it. Living in ego, mortal beings are created. When one understands ego, then the Lord's gate is known. Without spiritual wisdom, they babble and argue.


Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)


श्लोक महला १॥

मनुष्य अहंकार में जगत में आया है और अहंकार में ही जगत से चला गया है। उसने अहंकार में जन्म लिया था और अहंकार में ही मर गया है। अहंकार में ही उसने किसी को कुछ दिया था और अहंकार में ही किसी से कुछ लिया था। अहंकार में ही मनुष्य ने धन कमाया था और अहंकारवश ही वह गंवा गया था। अहंकारवश ही वह सत्यवादी और झूठा बन जाता है। अहंकार में ही वह पाप एवं पुण्य का विचार करता है। अहंकार में ही मनुष्य नरक अथवा स्वर्ग में जन्म लेता है। अहंकार में ही वह कभी हँसता है और अहंकारवश ही वह कभी रोता है। अहंत्व में उसकी मति पापों से भर जाती है और अहंत्व में ही अपने पापों को तीर्थ-स्नान द्वारा शुद्ध करता फिरता है। वह अहंत्व में अपनी जाति-पाति भी गंवा लेता है। लेकिन वह मोक्ष एवं मुक्ति के सार (रहस्य) को नहीं जानता। वह अभिमान में ही माया को सत्य समझता है और अभिमान में ही इसे पेड़ की छाया की तरह झूठी समझता है। अहंकारवश ही प्राणी बार-बार योनियों में जन्म लेता है। यदि अहंकार दूर हो जाए तभी प्रभु का द्वार सूझता है। अन्यथा ज्ञान-विहीन मनुष्य वाद-विवादों में ही उलझा रहता है।
