Siree Raag, Third Mehl: O Dear Lord, You are the Truest of the True. All things are in Your Power. The 8.4 million species of beings wander around searching for You, but without the Guru, they do not find You. When the Dear Lord grants His Forgiveness, this human body finds lasting peace. By Guru's Grace, I serve the True One, who is Immeasurably Deep and Profound. ||1|| O my mind, attuned to the Naam, you shall find peace. Follow the Guru's Teachings, and praise the Naam; there is no other at all. ||1|| Pause || The Righteous Judge of Dharma, by the Hukam of God's Command, sits and administers True Justice. Those evil souls, ensnared by the love of duality, are subject to Your Command. When the hands and the feet and the body are dirty,Water can wash away the dirt.When the clothes are soiled and stained by urine,Soap can wash them clean.But when the intellect is stained and polluted by sin,It can only be cleansed by the Love of the Name.Virtue and vice do not come by mere words;Actions repeated, over and over again, are engraved on the soul.You shall harvest what you plant.O Nanak, by the Hukam of God's Command, we come and go in reincarnation. ||20||

Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)

यदि यह शरीर, हाथ-पैर अथवा कोई अन्य अंग मलिन हो जाएतो पानी से धो लेने से उसकी गन्दगी व मिट्टी साफ हो जाती है।यदि कोई वस्त्र पेशाब आदि से अपवित्र हो जाएतो उसे साबुन के साथ धो लिया जाता है।यदि मनुष्य की बुद्धि दुष्कर्मों के करने से मलिन हो जाएतो वह वाहिगुरु के नाम का सिमरन करने से ही पवित्र हो सकती है।पुण्य और पाप मात्र कहने को ही नहीं हैं।अपितु इस संसार में रहकर जैसे-जैसे कर्म किए जाएँगे वही धर्मराज द्वारा भेजे गए चित्र-गुप्त लिख कर ले जाएँगे ; अर्थात् मानव जीव द्वारा इस धरती पर किए जाने वाले प्रत्येक अच्छे व बुरे कर्मो का हिसाब उसके साथ ही जाएगा, जिसके फलानुसार उसे स्वर्ग अथवा नरक की प्राप्ति होगी। Iसो मनुष्य स्वयं ही कर्म बीज बीजता है और स्वयं ही उसका फल प्राप्त करता है।गुरु नानक का कथन है की जीव इस संसार में अपने कर्मो का फल भोगने हेतु अकाल-पुरुष के आदेश से आता जाता रहेगा ; अर्थात् जीव के कर्म उसे आवागमन के चक्र में ही रखेंगे, निरंकार जीव के कर्मों के अनुसार ही उसके फल की आज्ञा करेगा ॥ २० I
